Kalyan Shankar’s youthful comedy-drama, “MAD,” proved to be a breakout success in 2023. Despite its modest budget, the film emerged as a massive hit, drawing large audiences to theaters consistently over an extended period. Buoyed by the resounding success of “MAD,” speculation about a sequel quickly spread, and now, details about the next installment have surfaced.
The lead cast and crew are set to reunite for the sequel, promising double the entertainment of the original. “MAD” resonated strongly with audiences both in theaters and upon its OTT release, garnering even more love and reaching a wider audience. Titled “MAD Max,” the sequel is slated to commence filming later this month, with the same trio of Sangeeth Sobhan, Ram Nithin, and Nithin Narne reprising their roles.
The comedy-drama boasted a talented ensemble cast including Narne Nithin, Sangeeth Shobhan, Ram Nithin, Sri Gouri Priya Reddy, Ananathika Sanilkumar, and Gopikaa Udyan.
Directed by Kalyan Shankar, “MAD” marked the debut of Haarika Suryadevara as a producer, with Sai Soujanya serving as co-producer. Naga Vamsi presented the film, with music composed by Bheems Ceciroleo.
The first installment of the movie follows the story of three friends named Manoj (Ram Nitin), Ashok (Narne Nitin), and Damodar (Sangeet Shobhan), who form a close bond while attending engineering college, earning their group the moniker “MAD.”
