The Malayalam film, Manjummel Boys, took the industry by storm, crossing the 100 crores mark in box office collections. Despite the absence of big Mollywood stars, it soared past 200 crores globally, establishing itself as Mollywood’s official industry hit and achieving another epic milestone.
This success attracted Telugu buyers, with Mythri Movie Makers distributing it in Telugu, where it also thrived commercially, grossing around 9 crores. Combined with the direct Malayalam version, it reached 10 crores. In Tamil Nadu, it exceeded 60 crores, surpassing even Suriya’s highest collections, making it the first film to achieve double-digit gross in all southern states.
This milestone elevates Mollywood, especially considering the successes of The Goat Life and Premalu, both grossing over 100 crores worldwide. Premalu was particularly triumphant in Telugu, raking in nearly 14 crores. Excitingly, Manjummel Boys will stream on Disney+Hotstar starting May 3rd.
