In a surprising turn of events, two low-budget films from the Malayalam Film Industry, “Manjummel Boys” and “Premalu,” have taken the box office by storm, defying expectations with their remarkable performances.
“Manjummel Boys” has emerged as the undisputed Industry hit of Mollywood, amassing a staggering 222 crores gross worldwide. Meanwhile, “Premalu” has also made waves, grossing around 134 crores globally, with projections hinting at a further climb to the 140 crores milestone by the end of its theatrical run. Adding to its accolades, “Premalu” is set to premiere on Disney+Hotstar on April 12th, following its exceptional success in both Malayalam and Telugu, where it has raked in close to 15 crores, a feat unmatched by any Malayalam dubbed film to date.
As the momentum continues, “Manjummel Boys” is poised for a Telugu version release this week, expanding its reach to test its luck in new territories.
In parallel, “The Goat Life,” featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran, has also been making waves, boasting an impressive 75 crores gross in just five days. With projections pointing towards an easy entry into the coveted 100 crores club, the film shows promising signs of even reaching the illustrious 200 crores mark worldwide in the near future.
