Matka and Amaran will be available for streaming on OTT platforms starting tonight. Sivakarthikeyan’s Amaran, which was a massive blockbuster this Diwali, will stream on Netflix. The film, a biopic based on Major Mukund Varadarajan, received a positive response from both critics and audiences and is expected to continue its success on streaming.
On the other hand, Varun Tej’s Matka, which was released on November 14th, was a huge disappointment at the box office. The film will be available on Prime Video but comes with much lower anticipation following its poor performance. This marks Varun Tej’s fourth consecutive box office failure, after Ghani, Gandeevadhari Arjuna, and Operation Valentine.
Both films will be available in multiple languages, reflecting the trend of South Indian films streaming in various regional versions. While Amaran is expected to do well on OTT, Matka faces an uphill battle to find its audience.
