Mr. Bachchan, starring Ravi Teja, recently hit theaters and unfortunately turned out to be a massive disaster. Director Harish Shankar, who had expressed strong confidence about the film’s success during press meets, has gone silent post-release, as the film became a target of widespread trolling. Both Harish’s direction and certain scenes from the movie have been mocked by many, with criticism intensifying after its release on OTT platforms.
The film received overwhelmingly negative feedback on its opening day, with audiences rejecting it outright. Now streaming on Netflix in multiple South Indian languages, the film has sparked further trolling. Netizens have been sharing clips of certain scenes, heavily criticizing Harish Shankar’s writing. Even audiences from other languages have joined in on the trolling. Particularly, heroine Bhagyashri Borse’s reaction to smoking and BVS Ravi’s dialogue about Ravi Teja have drawn heavy backlash.
In addition, the use of several Hindi songs throughout the movie has also become a point of contention, with many trolling Shankar for incorporating them unnecessarily. Despite its OTT release, Mr. Bachchan continues to be a source of embarrassment for the director, and it remains to be seen how he will address this situation in the future
