Mrunal Thakur, who began her career in Bollywood, gained widespread fame with her roles in Telugu films “Sita Ramam” and “Hi Nanna.” Her enchanting performance in “Sita Ramam” captivated audiences, earning the film a status as a modern classic. Recently, she made a cameo appearance in Prabhas’ “Kalki 2898 AD.”
Now, Thakur has been cast as the female lead in the Bollywood film “Son of Sardaar 2.” Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt, who starred as the protagonist and antagonist in the original “Son of Sardaar,” will reprise their roles in the sequel. However, Sonakshi Sinha, the leading lady from the first film, will not be returning, and Thakur will take her place. “Son of Sardaar,” an official remake of SS Rajamouli’s “Maryada Ramanna,” did not have a sequel, but the makers have developed a new script for “Son of Sardaar 2” that promises to impress movie buffs with a fresh story, rather than continuing from where the first part ended.
Punjabi filmmaker Vijay Kumar Arora will direct “Son of Sardaar 2,” with filming set to begin soon in Scotland.
