Tollywood star Naga Chaitanya recently got engaged to popular actress Sobhita Dhulipala in an intimate ceremony on August 8. The couple’s joyous engagement photos quickly spread across the internet, capturing the attention of fans and media alike. However, the Akkineni family has yet to announce the wedding date.
In a candid interview with a national media outlet, Chay’s father, veteran actor Nagarjuna, spoke for the first time about his son’s separation from Samantha and his newfound happiness with Sobhita. Nagarjuna revealed that Chaitanya was “depressed” after his split from Samantha but has now found joy again with Sobhita.
Nagarjuna shared that the engagement ceremony went smoothly and expressed his relief at seeing his son happy once more. He acknowledged that the separation was a difficult period for Chaitanya, who tends to keep his emotions private. The proud father also mentioned that the family is thrilled to see Chay smiling again and described Chaitanya and Sobhita as a “wonderful couple” who “love each other dearly.”
Chaitanya and Samantha, who had been dating for several years, married in a grand ceremony in 2017, only to announce their separation in October 2021. Reports of Chay and Sobhita’s relationship surfaced about a year ago, culminating in their recent engagement.
