Actor Nagarjuna expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for commemorating his father, legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), during his centenary year. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Nagarjuna shared an emotional note alongside a video of PM Modi’s tribute.
“Thank you, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji, for honoring my father, ANR Garu, on his centenary year alongside such iconic legends. His vision and contributions to Indian cinema continue to inspire generations, and this recognition means the world to our family and countless admirers of his work,” Nagarjuna tweeted.
Family Joins the Celebration
Nagarjuna’s son, Naga Chaitanya, and daughter-in-law, actress Sobhita Dhulipala, also expressed their gratitude on social media. Sobhita shared a post on Instagram featuring a photo of ANR and PM Modi, captioned:
“Thank you, Shri Modi ji, for your wonderful words about Akkineni Nageswara Rao Garu’s artistic merit and his efforts in shaping the brilliant Telugu film industry as we know it today. It is truly special coming from a stalwart like you! Immensely grateful .”
Naga Chaitanya echoed the sentiment by sharing the same post on his Instagram.
PM Modi’s Tribute to ANR
During his Mann Ki Baat address, PM Modi praised ANR for elevating Telugu cinema to new heights. He highlighted how ANR’s films reflected Indian traditions and values, earning him immense respect and admiration. In the same address, PM Modi also paid tribute to legends like Raj Kapoor, Mohammed Rafi, and Tapan Sinha.
