A leaked video from the set of Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, has surfaced online, showing Nagarjuna in an intense action sequence. The actor, who plays a character named Simon in this Rajinikanth-led film, was captured during a brutal scene while filming in Visakhapatnam. In the video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Nagarjuna is seen wearing a white suit, wielding a hammer, and attacking a man. One clip shows him in action from a distance, while a closer shot reveals him delivering a menacing threat before striking.

In the clip, a crew member helps Nagarjuna with the Tamil dialogue, guiding him on pronunciation. A fan excitedly posted the leaked footage on X, saying, “#COOLIE : #Nagarjuna Scenes Leaked. This is Gonna Be Bigger This Time.” Some fans even speculated that Nagarjuna’s role could rival Kamal Haasan’s character from Vikram, commenting on the character’s intensity.
However, the reaction wasn’t all positive. Some viewers felt that Nagarjuna’s portrayal of Simon was too similar to Suriya’s Rolex character from Vikram. One user remarked, “#Nagarjuna as SIMON in #coolie… heavy coat pota #rolex vibes…Lokesh Kanagaraj’s style might soon feel repetitive.”
In late August, Lokesh Kanagaraj confirmed on X that Nagarjuna had joined Coolie, sharing his excitement about working with the veteran actor. Nagarjuna responded, expressing his long-standing desire to collaborate with the director, dating back to Kanagaraj’s Kaithi.
In addition to Nagarjuna, the film stars Soubin Shahir as Dayal, Shruti Haasan as Preethi, Sathyaraj as Rajasekar, and Upendra as Kaleesha. Rajinikanth will portray the lead character, Deva. The film began production in Hyderabad in July before moving to Chennai and later to the Visakhapatnam fishing harbor. With music by Anirudh Ravichander, Coolie is set for a 2025 release.
