No Offers After Working with That Hero: Shruti Haasan’s Shocking Revelation

The name Shruti Haasan needs no introduction across India. As the daughter of legendary actor Kamal Haasan, she made her debut in the industry and has since garnered a massive fan following with her unique acting style. Shruti has starred alongside both young actors and senior heroes, and in Telugu cinema, she’s become a top choice for directors looking for a leading lady to pair with seasoned stars. Born to Kamal Haasan and Sarika, Shruti initially entered the industry as a music director with the film Unnaipol Oruvan.

Ten years later, she got her big break as an actress when A.R. Murugadoss cast her opposite Suriya in 7aum Arivu, where she showcased her impressive acting skills. Her next opportunity as a lead came with the movie 3, in which she starred alongside Dhanush under the direction of Aishwarya Rajinikanth. The song “Kolaveri Di” from this film became a massive hit, setting records, although the movie itself didn’t fare well at the box office. However, the chemistry between Dhanush and Shruti was highly praised by fans. Interestingly, when 3 was re-released ten years later, it was a surprising success.

In an interview, Shruti shared how the initial release of 3 impacted her career. She mentioned that for two years after its release, she didn’t receive any film offers. Though she acts across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi films, Shruti clarified that she has no plans to stop working in Tamil cinema. Recently, she starred opposite Prabhas in Salaar, and in Telugu, she appeared alongside Ravi Teja in Krack, Chiranjeevi in Waltair Veerayya, and Balakrishna in Veera Simha Reddy. Shruti made her Telugu debut with Premam opposite Naga Chaitanya and is now working on the Rajinikanth film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
