Pan-India superstar Prabhas, known for delivering blockbuster hits and commanding an unmatched fanbase across the country, has surprisingly left his followers puzzled and disappointed. Despite having a string of high-budget films in various stages of production, there’s still no clear update on which project will release next—or if any of them will hit theaters in 2025.
After the roaring success of Salaar, fans naturally expected Prabhas to maintain the momentum with at least one release per year. But as things currently stand, 2025 might go without a single Prabhas film—a prospect that’s frustrating his loyal fanbase, who are now demanding transparency and solid updates from the actor’s team.
Among the several upcoming projects, Raja Saab directed by Maruthi was initially touted to be Prabhas’ next release. But the film seems to have quietly gone off the radar, with no fresh updates or communication from the makers, leaving fans in the dark.
Meanwhile, Hanu Raghavapudi’s Fauji is reportedly progressing at a swift pace and nearing completion. However, it can’t be slotted for release before Raja Saab due to prior scheduling and strategic reasons. That puts even more uncertainty on when fans can next see Prabhas on the big screen.
Adding to the confusion is Salaar 2, officially announced by Hombale Films. While the announcement raised hopes for another action-packed spectacle, there’s been complete radio silence since, fueling concerns about its timeline and production status.
The situation becomes even more complex with the much-hyped Spirit, Prabhas’ collaboration with Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Although the project is expected to go on floors later this year, there’s still no official clarity on when the shoot will commence.
Then there’s Kalki 2, the sequel to the sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD. Director Nag Ashwin recently confirmed that the sequel won’t begin anytime soon, as he’s still working on the script and plans to do a smaller film with Alia Bhatt first—pushing Kalki 2 further down the pipeline.
At the same time, Hanu Raghavapudi is reportedly trying to lock Prabhas for another untitled film, adding yet another big-ticket project to an already overflowing schedule. There’s also buzz around Prabhas’ extended cameo in Kannappa, a rumored film with Prasanth Varma, and several other speculative collaborations being discussed in industry circles.
While Prabhas’ commitment to pan-India cinema and his long-term planning is admirable, the lack of consistent updates and timely releases is testing fans’ patience. With so many big names, massive budgets, and ambitious projects involved, the constant cycle of announcements followed by silence is raising eyebrows.
Many are now questioning whether taking on too many films at once is leading to avoidable delays and logistical chaos. Despite having a jam-packed calendar stretching over the next few years, there’s still no confirmed theatrical release on the horizon for 2025.
For now, fans can only hope that the team around Prabhas steps forward with some much-needed clarity on his next release. Whether it’s Raja Saab, Fauji, or any of his other big projects, audiences just want to see their favorite star light up the silver screen once again—sooner rather than later.
