Allu Arjun and Sukumar’s much-anticipated sequel, Pushpa 2: The Rule, is set to hit theaters worldwide on December 5, 2024. While the film has already recorded phenomenal ticket sales in North India and secured a ticket price hike in Telangana, the situation in Andhra Pradesh remains undecided.
According to reports, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan will play a crucial role in determining ticket price hikes in the state. Recently, NTR’s Devara received exceptional ticket price increases in Andhra Pradesh, with the government allowing hikes of ₹110 for single screens and ₹135 for multiplexes, alongside permitting six shows per day.
For Pushpa 2, the Andhra Pradesh government appears ready to grant a similar hike as Devara. However, the film’s producers are reportedly pushing for an unprecedented hike of ₹250–₹300 per ticket, a demand that has not been approved yet. Additionally, they are requesting record prices for premiere shows, exceeding ₹1,000 per ticket, as seen in Telangana.
Insiders suggest that discussions are ongoing between the makers, Allu Arjun’s close associates, and Pawan Kalyan to resolve the matter. While the final decision remains pending, it’s clear that such steep ticket hikes could impose a significant burden on audiences. Fans now eagerly await Pawan Kalyan’s verdict on this crucial issue.
