Pawan Kalyan, often referred to as the “Powerstar” of Telugu cinema, missed out on being a part of several iconic films, including Pokiri, Athadu, and Amma Nanna Oka Tamil Ammayi. However, here’s a lesser-known fact: he also lost the chance to headline the blockbuster Kick. This surprising revelation comes from producer Ram Thalluri of SRT Entertainments, who has worked with Pawan Kalyan and director Surender Reddy on a project that has been delayed for some time.
According to Ram Thalluri, the team had developed a script specifically for Pawan Kalyan, which he believed was a perfect fit for the actor. After hearing the narration, Pawan Kalyan was reportedly thrilled, expressing his excitement by hugging director Surender Reddy. Pawan also admitted that he had missed out on Kick but was excited to be a part of their film, which was in a similar genre.
Ram Thalluri further shared that Pawan Kalyan was originally the first choice for Kick. Director Surender Reddy, who eventually helmed the film, had pitched the story to Pawan Kalyan, but for unknown reasons, it didn’t materialize. The role eventually went to Ravi Teja, and Kick went on to become a massive hit, not only at the box office but also cementing its place as one of the most memorable entertainers in Telugu cinema.
While Pawan Kalyan’s loss was Ravi Teja’s gain, Kick remains a landmark film in Ravi Teja’s career, solidifying his status as one of the most charismatic performers in the industry.
