Since its announcement, Ustaad Bhagat Singh, the anticipated cop drama starring Pawan Kalyan and directed by Harish Shankar, has faced rumors of being an official remake of Tamil superstar Vijay’s hit Theri. With no official statements from the team to counter the rumors, speculation grew, leaving fans worried that Pawan Kalyan had opted for another Tamil remake—a decision met with mixed reactions.
However, providing much-needed clarity, the film’s screenwriter, Dasarath, confirmed in a recent interview that Ustaad Bhagat Singh is not a remake of Theri. Addressing the confusion, he explained, “While there are surface similarities between the two movies, Ustaad Bhagat Singh is entirely original. It includes all the signature traits that fans cherish in Pawan Kalyan—his charm, his distinct dance style, and his humor. Harish Shankar has crafted a film filled with fan-favorite moments tailored to Pawan’s persona.”
Alongside Pawan Kalyan, Ustaad Bhagat Singh features Sreeleela and Ashutosh Rana in significant roles. The high-budget film, backed by Mythri Movie Makers, boasts a dynamic soundtrack by Devi Sri Prasad, promising a cinematic experience that fans are eagerly awaiting.
