The Telugu film industry kicked off 2024 on a high note with the release of “HanuMan.” Starring Teja Sajja, Amritha Aiyer, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, this Prasanth Varma directorial stunned audiences by grossing over 300 crores at the box office. Its exceptional performance saw a rare feat of running for 50 days across 150 centers, sparking widespread celebration.
Addressing the jubilant gathering at the event, Prasanth Varma expressed his delight, stating, “It’s been quite some time since we witnessed a 50-day celebration. I’m thrilled that it’s happening with ‘HanuMan.’ My heartfelt thanks to all the actors and technicians whose dedication brought this success. A triumphant film not only impacts the lives of producers, directors, and actors but also resonates with distributors and theatre owners. It’s crucial to commemorate such milestones.”
He further added, “The extended run of ‘HanuMan’ across 150 theatres fills me with confidence. This success builds upon the solid foundation laid by my debut film ‘Awe,’ which received both commercial and critical acclaim. Despite not having a formal success meet for ‘Awe,’ its performance wasn’t undermined.”
Looking ahead, Prasanth Varma shared exciting plans, revealing, “We’re gearing up for the release of a remastered version of ‘HanuMan,’ promising to deliver an even more captivating experience. Additionally, ‘HanuMan’ has paved the way for the expansion of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe, ensuring a lineup of quality movies within the franchise. We’re also eyeing an international release for ‘HanuMan,’ anticipating a significant impact in foreign markets, all thanks to our visionary producer Niranjan Garu.”
He continued, “We’re eager to showcase ‘HanuMan’ at prestigious film festivals, hopeful of garnering awards and recognition. Meanwhile, work on ‘Jai Hanuman’ has already commenced, and we’ll be unveiling its first look soon. The adrenaline-fueled climax of ‘HanuMan’ will resonate throughout ‘Jai Hanuman,’ driven by the immense success and affection from our audience. This journey has imbued us with a profound sense of responsibility. Jai Sriram. Jai Hanuman. Jai Hindi.”
