The grand pre-release event for Ram and Puri Jagannadh’s upcoming mass action entertainer, “Double iSmart,” took place in Warangal tonight. During the event, Puri Jagannadh shared an emotional experience he had during a telephonic conversation with renowned scriptwriter V Vijayendra Prasad, known for his work on blockbusters like the Baahubali franchise and RRR.
Puri revealed, “One week after my previous movie (Liger) was released and flopped, I received a call from Vijayendra Prasad garu. He never calls me, so I was surprised. He asked, ‘Sir, could you please do me a favor?’ I was taken aback, wondering what I could do for someone whose son is SS Rajamouli. He asked me to narrate the story to him whenever I make my next movie. He then told me, ‘I can’t see directors like you failing due to small mistakes.’ I was very emotional after his call.”
Despite the touching gesture, Puri mentioned that he did not narrate the story of “Double iSmart” to Vijayendra Prasad but plans to meet him after the film’s release. “I made Double iSmart with utmost dedication,” Puri added. It’s well-known that Puri Jagannadh is one of Vijayendra Prasad’s favorite directors, with the veteran writer even keeping Puri’s photograph as his mobile wallpaper.
