A significant 100-minute footage was trimmed from Pushpa 2: The Rule before its release. Following the film’s launch, audiences have been discussing the film’s length and the abrupt ending, with many unclear about Japan’s fight due to the lack of any lead-up to that sequence. Reports suggest that director Sukumar filmed numerous scenes that were ultimately cut during the final edit, including key scenes featuring Shekhawat.
Rumors are circulating that a 100-minute footage was trimmed before the film was submitted for censor approval, with the final censored runtime coming in at 200 minutes. Had the trimming not occurred, Pushpa 2 would have been a two-part film. As of now, Sukumar is not looking to stretch the Pushpa series any further, but the future remains uncertain. It is possible that the trimmed footage could be used in Pushpa 3, but that decision ultimately lies with Sukumar.
After investing six years into the Pushpa franchise, Sukumar and Allu Arjun have finally released Pushpa 2. We’ll have to wait and see if they continue the journey with Pushpa in the future.
