Pushpa 2: Ticket Prices Lowered to Attract More Viewers

Pushpa 2: The Rule, which opened to a staggering ₹250 crore worldwide on its release day, is falling short of expectations in the subsequent days, particularly in the Telugu states. One major reason for this dip is the high ticket prices, which have deterred many moviegoers. In response, several exhibitors have already reduced ticket prices in certain areas, and it has now been confirmed that from Monday, all centers will implement price cuts to attract more audiences.

In Telangana, initial ticket prices were set at ₹200 for balcony seats, ₹140 for first-class, and ₹80 for second-class in single screens. To make the film more accessible, multiplexes are also planning to lower their rates to standard pricing. This strategic move by the producers and exhibitors aims to extend the film’s theatrical run, which currently appears uncertain under the heavy pricing model.

To break even in the Telugu states alone, Pushpa 2 needs to collect ₹250 crore (including GST). However, the film has managed to gross only ₹89 crore so far in these regions, which is considerably less than expected. A significant influx of moviegoers is required in the coming days to bridge this gap and ensure the film’s profitability.

Meanwhile, Pushpa 2 continues to dominate the Hindi markets, where it is performing exceptionally well. The film is on track to gross over ₹600 crore in Hindi territories, underscoring its nationwide appeal despite regional challenges.
