It’s known that Rajendra Prasad’s daughter, Gayatri, has passed away. For a long time, Rajendra Prasad hadn’t spoken to her. But what was the reason for their dispute? Here’s how they eventually reconciled.
Rajendra Prasad, known as a comedic hero in Tollywood, competed with stars like Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, Rajasekhar, Suman, Jagapathi Babu, and Arjun, delivering several hits. While he mainly starred in comedy films, his movies also included commercial elements and action sequences. Over the years, Rajendra Prasad delivered numerous blockbusters, establishing himself as a star. Although he’s now known for his strong character roles, he still brings a sense of fun to every part he plays, as crafted by the filmmakers.
Amid his busy schedule as a character artist, a tragedy has struck Rajendra Prasad’s family. His only daughter, Gayatri, passed away due to a heart attack, according to family sources. The news has left Rajendra Prasad devastated, with reports of him being inconsolable. Along with his son, Gayatri was one of his two children.
Her death has cast a heavy cloud of grief over the family. Rajendra Prasad kept her mortal remains at their residence for friends and family to pay their respects. Numerous celebrities from the film industry and political sphere visited to offer condolences, including Venkatesh, Anil Ravipudi, and Errabelli Dayakar Rao. The last rites are scheduled for Sunday.
Amidst this, an old video of Rajendra Prasad has gone viral, where he opened up about his relationship with his daughter Gayatri. In the video, recorded at an event for the movie Bewars, Rajendra Prasad shared details of the argument that led to a long period of silence between them. He spoke of how a song titled “Thalli Thalli Na Chitti Thalli” from the movie deeply resonated with him. The song, penned by renowned writer Suddala Ashok Teja, was played when a daughter dies in the film. Rajendra Prasad had specifically requested Ashok Teja to write the song, and when he heard it, he couldn’t contain his emotions.
Rajendra Prasad revealed that he had lost his mother when he was just 10 years old and hadn’t cried much back then. But as he grew older, he saw his mother in his daughter, Gayatri, and developed a deep love for her. However, when Gayatri grew up and married someone against his wishes, Rajendra Prasad was heartbroken. He cried bitterly, unable to bear the emotional pain.
At the Bewars event, Rajendra Prasad shared how he had distanced himself from his daughter after her love marriage and hadn’t spoken to her for a long time. But after hearing the song Suddala Ashok Teja wrote, he invited her home, played the song four times, and cried. That moment allowed them to reconcile after their long estrangement. Rajendra Prasad admitted that he had been unable to forgive her for a long time, but the song’s magic helped heal their relationship.
Since then, Gayatri had been working as a nutritionist and offering guidance to others, while her husband Mahendra worked at a company. They also had a daughter, Sai Tejaswini, who appeared as a child actress in several films, most notably as young Savitri in the film Mahanati
