Ram Pothineni Shares His 18 Kilo Weight Loss Journey for Double Ismart

Ram Pothineni is undoubtedly a major crowd-puller, although his last two films did not achieve the expected success. He is now returning with “Double Ismart,” another out-and-out mass entertainer directed by ace filmmaker Puri Jagannadh, with Kavya Thapar in the female lead role.

The promotional campaign for “Double Ismart” has kicked off with interviews, and in a special interview alongside Kavya Thapar and Getup Srinu, Ram Pothineni revealed that he lost 18 kilos for the film. “I was very excited when I heard about the climax. I looked strong in ‘iSmart Shankar’ with a chiseled body and wanted to maintain the same look for ‘Double Ismart,’” Ram shared.

He further explained, “The climax sequence was scheduled for November 2023, right after the release of ‘Skanda’ in September 2023. I didn’t have much time to lose weight. We couldn’t postpone the shoot since coordinating Sanjay Dutt Garu’s dates again was challenging. I went to Bali and disconnected from my mobile phone for a month. I lost 18 kilos, dropping from 86 kilos to 68 kilos. However, losing so much weight in such a short period is not healthy.”
