Ramzan, also known as Ramadan, holds significant spiritual and communal importance for Muslims worldwide as the ninth month in the Islamic calendar (Hijri Calendar). During this holy month, adult Muslims observe fasting from dawn (Fajr) till dusk (Maghrib Salah), emphasizing piety, self-discipline, and spiritual reflection.
The word “Ramadan” derives from the Arabic term “Ramad / Ramida,” signifying scorching heat or drought. Fasting symbolizes abstinence from eating, drinking, and other physical needs during daylight hours, constituting one of the Five Pillars of Islam.
Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahali has announced that the Moon for the month of Ramzan will be sighted on March 11. If sighted, Tarawih will commence from the same night, with the first roza on March 12.
