After enthralling audiences with her stellar performance in Animal, Rashmika Mandanna has once again won hearts with her emotional portrayal in Pushpa 2. The monologue scene featuring Rashmika during the Jathara sequence has been widely acclaimed, capturing the admiration of fans.
In a recent interview, Rashmika was asked about the first movie she watched in a theatre. The actress revealed, “It’s Ghilli. I always say I love Thalapathy Vijay sir because he was the first actor I watched on the big screen. I recently found out that Ghilli is the remake of a film called Pokiri. I didn’t know that until now. I’ve danced to the song ‘Appadi Podu’ for most of my life.”
However, Ghilli is actually the Tamil remake of Mahesh Babu and Gunasekhar’s blockbuster Okkadu, not Pokiri. Rashmika’s mix-up sparked trolling on social media, with fans criticizing her for confusing two iconic Telugu films.
Acknowledging her error, Rashmika issued an apology to fans. She wrote, “I realized my mistake right after the interview. I knew social media wouldn’t spare me. Sorry, sorry, my bad. But I love all their movies. It’s okay.”
Interestingly, Rashmika has shared the screen with both Thalapathy Vijay and Mahesh Babu, making her admiration for their films even more special.
