Mr. Bachchan has emerged as the biggest flop in Ravi Teja’s career. Directed by Harish Shankar, known for adapting successful films, this remake of the Hindi movie Raid was produced by People Media Factory but failed to resonate with audiences.
Following this debacle, Ravi Teja has firmly decided against taking on any more remakes. A successful director recently approached him with another remake offer, but the actor declined outright. Similarly, a producer who had paid an advance to Ravi Teja years ago also proposed a remake, which the actor refused.
With the wide availability of films across all major Indian languages on OTT platforms, and a vast audience accessing them, staying away from remakes seems to be a prudent choice for any actor. Ravi Teja has experienced a string of flops after Dhamaka and is now under pressure to deliver a hit with his 75th film. The actor has faced a dip in non-theatrical revenues, and the rights for his films have seen a decline due to these back-to-back failures.
Currently, Ravi Teja is on a break after sustaining an injury on the sets of his upcoming film and is in recovery mode. He is shooting for Bhanu Bhogavarapu’s entertainer, slated for a summer 2025 release. Produced by Sithara Entertainments, the film features Sree Leela as the leading lady.
