Reports: Indian 2 OTT Release in Trouble as Netflix Renegotiates Deal

Kamal Haasan’s “Indian 2” has left fans and cinephiles deeply disappointed. Directed by Shankar, this film fell short of the immense expectations, becoming one of the most significant disasters in Tamil cinema. Netflix holds the post-theatrical streaming rights for this major release.

Recently, OTT platforms have been reducing their offers if a film underperforms at the box office or receives a poor public response. Unfortunately, “Indian 2” has faced both issues. Reports suggest that Netflix is now attempting to renegotiate the OTT deal with Lyca Productions, the film’s production house.

“Netflix initially offered a substantial sum for ‘Indian 2,’ but due to the negative public response, the platform is now willing to pay only half of the agreed amount. The release of ‘Indian 3,’ scheduled for next year, is also at risk because of this renegotiation,” a report stated. As a result, it seems “Indian 2” will not be available on OTT anytime soon.
