Veteran filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma made his directorial debut with “Shiva” in 1989, starring Nagarjuna in the lead role. The film not only became the highest-grossing Telugu film of its time but also set new standards in technical aspects, storytelling, and action choreography, earning a cult following over the years.
This cult blockbuster is set for a grand re-release in 4K format on Nagarjuna’s birthday, August 29, 2024. Given the film’s enduring legacy, this re-release is anticipated to perform exceptionally well at the box office.
“Shiva” also starred Amala as the female lead and Raghuvaran as the antagonist. Co-produced by Annapurna Studios, the film’s music was composed by the legendary Ilayaraaja. Following its immense success, RGV remade the film in Hindi with the same title, with Nagarjuna reprising his role.
Stay tuned for the re-release and experience the magic of “Shiva” once again on the big screen.
