Allu Arjun’s arrest controversy seems to be fading from media coverage, but filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma continues to express his opinions on the matter through social media. Last night, he stirred the debate by questioning whether the Telangana police would have arrested the late actress Sridevi, referencing an incident during the shooting of Kshana Kshanam, where three people tragically lost their lives while gathering to see the actress.
In a tweet on X, Varma stated, “Every STAR should STRONGLY protest against @alluarjun’s ARREST because for any celebrity, whether it’s a FILM STAR or a POLITICAL STAR, is it a crime for them to be ENORMOUSLY POPULAR??? Three people died in the lakhs of crowd who came to see SRIDEVI during the shooting of my film KSHANA KSHANAM. So will the #TelanganaPolice now go to #HEAVEN to ARREST #Sridevi???”
Ram Gopal Varma criticized the police, questioning whether being immensely popular should be considered a crime.
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun is currently out on interim bail in connection with a stampede incident that occurred at Sandhya Theatre during the premiere of Pushpa 2.
