Nithin’s latest action entertainer Robinhood, which hit theaters at the end of March, has unfortunately turned out to be a box office disaster. Despite carrying decent expectations and being backed by a strong team, the film failed to strike a chord with audiences.
Robinhood Fails Despite Big Names and Holiday Release
Touted as the biggest-budget film in Nithin’s career, Robinhood was released during the festive season, coinciding with Ugadi and Ramzan. The film also reunited the hit combo of Nithin and Venky Kudumula, who previously delivered the blockbuster Bheeshma. With Sree Leela as the female lead, expectations were high—but the film couldn’t cash in on the hype.
Lack of Pre-Release Buzz and Strong Competition
One of the major setbacks for Robinhood was its lack of pre-release buzz. Even with its strong cast and crew, the film failed to create anticipation among audiences. To make matters worse, it clashed at the box office with the successful film Mad Square. Poor word-of-mouth (WOM) and underwhelming reviews sealed its fate, as the movie struggled to even cross a double-digit share worldwide.

Now, Robinhood is heading to OTT. The film’s digital streaming rights have been acquired by ZEE5, and it is officially set to premiere on the platform starting May 2. Fans who missed it in theaters can now catch the action drama online.
