Sai Dharam Tej Was First Choice for ‘Prema Kavali,’ Reveals Director Vijaya Bhaskar

“Prema Kavali,” starring Aadi Sai Kumar, became a massive hit, with its chartbuster album composed by Anup Rubens. Directed by Vijaya Bhaskar, the film marked Aadi Sai Kumar’s debut, leading to a successful acting career. In a surprising revelation, director Vijaya Bhaskar shared that Sai Dharam Tej, nephew of Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan, was initially chosen for the lead role in “Prema Kavali.”

Vijaya Bhaskar disclosed this interesting tidbit during an event for his upcoming film, “Usha Parinayam.” He also mentioned that Pawan Kalyan was supposed to produce “Prema Kavali,” but the project didn’t materialize as planned. Consequently, Sai Dharam Tej teamed up with Y.V.S. Chowdary for “Rey,” which was intended to be his debut. However, due to release issues, “Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham” released first, becoming his debut film.

This revelation has intrigued many, as “Prema Kavali” would have been a significant launch for Sai Dharam Tej. Despite the change, he has enjoyed the support of his uncles and Mega fans, helping him sustain his career. Recently, Sai Dharam Tej recovered from an accident and is currently working on “SDT18,” directed by Rohith KP.
