Samantha Ruth Prabhu Reflects on Past Mistakes: I Accept Failure

Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently shared candid insights about her last few films, acknowledging that she “might not have done [her] best” in some of them. During an Instagram Ask Me Anything session, Samantha opened up about her career, admitting to “some mistakes in the past” and accepting the outcome as a learning experience. However, she expressed pride in her latest project, Citadel: Honey Bunny, which she described as “the most layered, complicated, and challenging role” of her career.

When asked about her preparation for Citadel, Samantha shared, “I made a promise to myself that I’ll challenge myself with every role… I accept that I might not have done my best in my last few films.” She added that working on Citadel was rewarding, as she overcame personal and professional challenges to complete it. “I’m already proud of it… But I’m just gonna allow you to be the judge of that,” she concluded with a smile.

Recent Films and Their Box Office Performance

Samantha’s recent films from 2022 and 2023 include Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, Yashoda, Shaakuntalam, and Kushi. Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, directed by Vignesh Shivn and co-starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara, grossed over ₹50 crore globally. Yashoda, an action thriller by Hari–Harish, collected ₹32.13 crore. In contrast, Shaakuntalam, directed by Gunasekhar, earned only ₹11 crore despite an ensemble cast. Kushi, her latest film alongside Vijay Deverakonda, performed well, minting ₹76 crore worldwide.

Upcoming Project: Citadel: Honey Bunny

Samantha’s next project, Citadel: Honey Bunny, is the Indian edition of the global Citadel series. The action-packed show, written by Sita R. Menon and directed by the celebrated duo Raj & DK, stars Samantha alongside Varun Dhawan. The series is set to premiere on Prime Video on November 7, and fans are eager to see Samantha in what she calls her most demanding role yet.
