Ace filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga has never shied away from controversy, thanks to his hard-hitting films like Kabir Singh and Animal. While his movies have enjoyed massive box office success, they have also sparked debates over their themes and portrayal of violence. Recently, veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar took a dig at Animal, labeling it as one of the worst films he has ever watched. This added fuel to the ongoing tensions between Akhtar and Vanga, which seem to have escalated further.
In a recent interview, Sandeep Reddy Vanga indirectly responded to the controversy, revealing that an actor from Kabir Singh was denied a role in a major production house simply because he starred in the film. While the director refrained from naming names, netizens speculated that the production house in question is Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment, and the actor being referred to is Soham Majumdar, who played Shiva, Kabir Singh’s best friend in the film.
Expressing his frustration, Vanga said, “If you have guts, talk here. It’s very irritating. I don’t even have words to express how bad I felt.” His statement comes at a time when Animal continues to divide audiences, with some praising its raw storytelling while others criticize its extreme violence and themes.
Despite the controversy, Sandeep Reddy Vanga remains focused on his next big project, Spirit, starring Prabhas. With expectations soaring high, the filmmaker is determined to deliver another blockbuster and silence his critics once again.
