The premiere of Pushpa 2 at Sandhya 70mm theater on December 4 turned into a tragic event, claiming the life of Revathi, a 35-year-old woman, and critically injuring her 13-year-old son, Sritej, a devoted fan of Allu Arjun.
Following the incident, the Chikkadpally Police arrested Pushpa 2 star Allu Arjun, the theater management, and his bouncers, based on a complaint filed by Revathi’s husband, Bhaskar. The actor, who spent a night in Chanchalguda Jail, has been released on interim bail, with the next hearing on his regular bail scheduled for December 30.
In a compassionate gesture, Allu Arjun’s father, Allu Aravind, extended financial support to the grieving family by handing over a cheque for Rs 2 crore to Bhaskar. Additionally, the film fraternity assured Bhaskar of a job. In light of this, Bhaskar expressed his intention to withdraw his complaint against Allu Arjun.
However, the police clarified that cases involving fatal incidents cannot be withdrawn, as the charges are non-compoundable. They emphasized their commitment to pursuing the case legally, citing the loss of life and the critical condition of Sritej. Authorities plan to file a chargesheet against Allu Arjun and others implicated in the tragedy.
