The Sankranthi festival season has proven to be a lucrative period for the box office, with all three major releases generating substantial revenue. Among them, Sankranthiki Vasthunam emerged as the frontrunner, drawing massive audiences to theaters. As of January 18th, the box office collections are as follows:
- Sankranthiki Vasthunam: ₹84 crore share (leading the pack with a sensational run).
- Game Changer: ₹83.4 crore share.
- Daaku Maharaaj: ₹73 crore share.
Sankranthiki Vasthunam is on track to cross the coveted ₹100 crore share milestone, solidifying its position as the top performer of the season. Meanwhile, Daaku Maharaaj, buoyed by positive reviews, is expected to surpass Game Changer in its full run. However, it remains uncertain whether it can achieve at least ₹90 crore in shares. Regardless, Daaku Maharaaj is set to become Balakrishna’s highest share-grossing film, surpassing his previous record with Veera Simha Reddy.
On the other hand, Game Changer, despite its strong start, has faced significant setbacks and is heading towards being a box office disappointment. The film is projected to fall short of the ₹90 crore share mark, marking a major setback for both Ram Charan and director Shankar.
As the Sankranthi releases continue their theatrical runs, all eyes are on the final figures to see how these films fare in the long term.
