In contrast, Zee5 struck gold by securing both the OTT and satellite rights for Sankranthiki Vasthunam.
Initially, Game Changer generated significant hype, and Daaku Maharaaj was riding on the mass appeal of Balakrishna. Meanwhile, Sankranthiki Vasthunam had comparatively lower expectations, which led both Amazon Prime and Netflix to choose the other two films. However, the unexpected earth-shattering success of Sankranthiki Vasthunam at the box office, now heading towards the ₹100 crore share mark, has proven the initial choices wrong.
In a last-minute move, Zee5 secured the rights for Sankranthiki Vasthunam, and the deal has turned out to be a massive win for the platform. Meanwhile, Game Changer and Daaku Maharaaj are slated to stream on OTT in the second week of February, while the streaming date for Sankranthiki Vasthunam is still to be announced.
