Saripodhaa Sanivaaram Faces Box Office Hurdles Due to Heavy Rains in Telugu States

Date:

Nani’s latest film, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, had a strong start, grossing Rs. 25 crores worldwide on its opening day. The movie has performed exceptionally well in North America and other international markets, a trend that has become standard for a Nani starrer. Directed by Vivek Athreya, this action drama features SJ Suryah as the antagonist.

In the Telugu states, the film maintained decent momentum on its second day, following a solid opening. However, the performance could have been even stronger if not for the heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh, which are also expected to continue in Hyderabad and other regions of Telangana. This adverse weather is likely to impact the weekend box office collections, preventing the film from reaching its full potential despite positive word of mouth—a scenario the team probably didn’t anticipate.

Nani’s previous film, Hi Nanna, enjoyed a fantastic run, even holding its ground against the blockbuster Salaar. Saripodhaa Sanivaaram now faces the challenge of replicating that success.

On a brighter note, the Tamil version of the film is performing exceptionally well, with evening and night shows in major centers across Tamil Nadu seeing superb occupancy. With the weekend ahead, the numbers from Tamil Nadu are expected to be strong. It will be interesting to see how much Saripodhaa Sanivaaram ultimately collects throughout its run.
