Shyamala Devi, wife of legendary Telugu film star Krishnam Raju, made a significant revelation today during the 127th birth anniversary celebrations of the iconic Telugu freedom fighter, Alluri Seetharamaraju.
While interacting with the media at the event, Shyamala Devi expressed her dream of making a film based on Alluri Seetharamaraju, with Prabhas in the lead role. “Alluri Seetharamaraju will come back to life on screen if Prabhas plays his character. Many fans wish to see Prabhas as Alluri. I will convey fans’ wishes to Prabhas and try my best to see the project through,” she stated.
She also reminisced about how her husband, veteran actor-politician Krishnam Raju, had campaigned for Alluri’s statue in parliament 15 years ago. “Krishnam Raju garu had met with the then Speaker Meira Kumar and requested her permission for Alluri’s statue. But his wish was never fulfilled for some reason. We will now request the President and Prime Minister of India regarding the statue,” she added.
Needless to say, seeing Prabhas as Alluri would be a treat for his fans. However, Prabhas is currently occupied with highly-anticipated projects such as Raja Saab, Salasar 2, and Spirit for the next couple of years. It remains to be seen whether he will consider Alluri’s biopic in the future.
