Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has mandated that every actor must create a video addressing the issues of drugs or cyber crimes to educate the public. He stated that the government will only approve ticket price hikes for their films after the initiative is undertaken by the film teams.
During a press meet for Indian 2, actor Siddharth addressed this mandate, initially expressing his ongoing social responsibility. He remarked that no other Chief Minister had made such a request before. Following this, Siddharth posted a video on social media to clarify his stance: “Indian 2 promotes zero tolerance for corruption and drugs. During the press interaction, my words were misunderstood. I fully support Chief Minister Revanth Reddy garu and the Telangana government. The future of our children is our responsibility, and I stand with Revanth Reddy garu in involving the film industry to create a better society. Throughout my career, I have supported social initiatives. My words meant that we are doing this out of our own will, without any government pressure. I congratulate the Telangana government on their fight against drugs and cyber crimes. We are with you. Indian 2 is releasing in cinemas this Friday.”
Indian 2, directed by Shankar, stars Kamal Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, and Rakul Preet Singh. Produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies, the film hits the screens this Friday
