Despite a slower-than-expected start, Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss and starring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, has maintained a steady pace at the box office. According to Sacnilk, the film has collected ₹93.75 crore net in India within its first six days.
Sikandar’s Box Office Performance
Released on March 30 (Eid), Sikandar missed out on the traditional Friday-Saturday opening boost. The film opened with ₹26 crore on day 1 and accumulated ₹90.25 crore net in India and ₹42 crore overseas in its first five days, bringing its worldwide total to ₹169.78 crore gross.
On its sixth day (Friday), the film earned approximately ₹3.5 crore, taking its total domestic net collection to ₹93.75 crore. Comparatively, Salman Khan’s previous release, Tiger 3, had collected ₹13.25 crore on day 6, crossing ₹200.9 crore net in the same period.
With box office numbers now in single digits, the film’s performance is being closely monitored. Despite mixed reviews and a 50% drop in collections since Wednesday, the upcoming weekend offers hope for a resurgence. However, online leaks have posed a challenge to its earnings.
About Sikandar
Starring Salman Khan as Sanjay Rajkot aka Sikandar, the film follows his battle against a corrupt politician and his son. Rashmika Mandanna plays his wife, Saisri, while the cast also includes Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, Kishore, Jatin Sarna, and Sanjay Kapoor.
Piracy Controversy
Ahead of its release, Sikandar was leaked online, prompting backlash from the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association (IMPPA). The organization condemned the piracy, stating, “The leak of Sikandar serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for stricter enforcement of anti-piracy laws and enhanced digital security measures to protect intellectual property rights.”
With the weekend ahead, it remains to be seen whether Sikandar can regain momentum and improve its box office performance.
