Kollywood superstar Sivakarthikeyan has delivered a massive hit with his latest film, Amaran, a biopic based on the life and heroics of Indian Army martyr Major Mukund Varadarajan. Featuring Sai Pallavi in a lead role, the film has been a tremendous success, earning a staggering ₹244 crore by Sunday, making it the highest-grossing film of Sivakarthikeyan’s career.
Amaran is on track to cross the ₹250 crore milestone today, marking an incredible achievement. Sivakarthikeyan has now become the fourth Tamil hero to enter the exclusive ₹250 crore club, joining the ranks of Kollywood legends like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and Vijay. This feat is especially remarkable considering Sivakarthikeyan’s previous highest-grossing film, Don, which earned ₹125 crore. Surpassing his career best by more than double, it is clear that his popularity is soaring.
With the film’s momentum showing no signs of slowing down, Amaran is expected to gross over ₹275 crore and could even make a push for the ₹300 crore club, depending on the box office performance of Suriya’s Kanguvacs. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the film is produced by Kamal Haasan, R Mahendran, and Vivek Krishnan, with a memorable soundtrack by GV Prakash Kumar.
