Chief Minister Revanth Reddy recently addressed the Telugu film industry, outlining key initiatives to foster its growth. Acknowledging the industry’s concerns, CM Reddy said, “The film industry brought their problems to the attention of the government and shared doubts, misconceptions, and ideas during the meeting.”

Telangana Government’s Steps for Telugu Cinema

To support the industry, the Telangana government has implemented several measures, including:

  • Issuing special orders for eight films.
  • Allocating police grounds for the filming of Pushpa 2.
  • Developing a new brand identity for the Telugu film industry to ensure long-term growth.

Additionally, renowned producer Dil Raju has been appointed Chairman of the Film Development Corporation (FDC) to improve coordination between the government and the industry.

The Chief Minister also announced the formation of a Cabinet Sub-Committee to work alongside an industry-led committee to address challenges. CM Reddy emphasized the state’s dedication to promoting eco-tourism and temple tourism through cinema, stating, “Hyderabad stands as the best city among all cosmopolitan cities, making it a prime destination for the film industry.”

Plans are also underway to attract Bollywood and Hollywood filmmakers to Hyderabad by hosting global conferences aimed at encouraging international film industries to establish a base in the city.

BJP’s Amit Malviya Criticizes Telangana Government

Amid these developments, BJP leader Amit Malviya accused CM Reddy of targeting Tollywood. In a post on X, Malviya alleged that the Congress-led government in Telangana is pressuring Telugu superstars and producers to comply with its demands.

Malviya highlighted recent controversies, including:

  • The demolition of superstar Nagarjuna’s convention center in Hyderabad.
  • A personal attack by a woman minister on actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Nagarjuna’s estranged daughter-in-law.
  • Allegations of harassment involving veteran actor Mohan Babu and his family.
  • Targeting of Allu Arjun, a prominent Tollywood actor.

Malviya claimed these actions are part of an ongoing campaign to exert control over the Telugu film industry, one of India’s most vibrant cinematic hubs.
