Thandel on Track for First-Week Breakeven

Thandel has firmly established itself as a box office success, sustaining strong momentum beyond its extraordinary first weekend. The film continues to perform well on weekdays, demonstrating steady collections. In just five days, Thandel has amassed over ₹65 crore gross and nearly ₹37 crore share worldwide, putting it on track for a remarkable first-week breakeven.

With a breakeven target set at ₹40 crore share, industry analysts predict that the film will achieve this milestone by the seventh day. Attaining breakeven within the first week is an impressive feat, highlighting the film’s commercial strength and positive audience reception.

Thandel: Akkineni Family’s First 100 Crore Film?

Thandel is poised to become the highest-grossing and highest share film in Naga Chaitanya’s career as a solo lead. If it maintains a stronghold during its second weekend, the film is expected to cross the coveted ₹100 crore gross mark in its second week itself.

This achievement is particularly significant as no Akkineni hero has previously entered the ₹100 crore club. If the film continues its upward trajectory, Naga Chaitanya is set to be the first from the Akkineni family to reach this milestone, solidifying his position as a bankable star in the industry.

A Gripping Tale of Survival and Courage

Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Thandel is inspired by true events and narrates the harrowing yet inspiring journey of a fisherman, Thandel Raju (played by Naga Chaitanya). The story revolves around Raju and his fellow fishermen, who unintentionally drift into Pakistani waters, leading to their capture and subsequent imprisonment. The film’s realistic storytelling, gripping screenplay, and intense emotional depth have resonated well with audiences, contributing to its commercial success.

With a strong word-of-mouth response and consistent box office performance, Thandel is shaping up to be one of the most significant successes of Naga Chaitanya’s career. If the film sustains its momentum, it will not only achieve financial success but also mark a milestone moment for both the actor and the Akkineni family in Tollywood history.
