Naga Chaitanya’s latest release, Thandel, has entered its second week with a steady performance at the box office. After an impressive opening weekend, the film witnessed a slight dip in collections over the weekdays. However, despite facing competition from new releases, Thandel held its ground on its second Friday across Telugu states.
Meanwhile, two new films—Vishwak Sen’s Laila and Brahmanandam’s Brahma Anandam—hit the screens yesterday. Unfortunately, both films failed to impress audiences, leading to underwhelming opening-day numbers. Laila, in particular, faced harsh criticism for its content, with Vishwak Sen becoming the target of online trolling. The film’s theatrical footfalls declined significantly on its first day, signaling a tough road ahead.
Similarly, Brahma Anandam struggled to draw crowds despite an extensive promotional campaign. The lackluster response suggests that the film may not sustain its run and could end up as a commercial failure.
On the other hand, Thandel is expected to capitalize on the weekend and continue its dominance at the Telugu box office. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti and featuring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in lead roles, the film is backed by GA2 Pictures. With strong word-of-mouth and steady collections, Thandel is likely to emerge as a successful venture in the coming days.
