SP Charan, the son of the legendary SP Balasubramanyam, has recently issued a legal notice to the Keedaa Cola team, alleging that they used AI to recreate his late father’s voice without the family’s consent. This action has deeply hurt SP Charan, who has demanded both an apology and a share in the royalty from the makers of Keedaa Cola.
The situation has sparked a significant debate on social media platforms, with netizens taking various stances on the matter. At a recent event, Tharun Bhascker addressed the issue, expressing regret over the communication gap with SP Charan. He clarified that their intention was to pay tribute to the legendary artist and not to disrespect anyone, emphasizing that there was no commercial motive behind their actions.
Bhascker also highlighted the emergence of Artificial Intelligence and its potential impact on various industries, including the entertainment sector. He acknowledged the existence of a communication issue but asserted that clarity has been achieved since then.
It’s worth noting that Keedaa Cola features Brahmanandam, Chaitanya Rao, and Rag Mayur in lead roles, with music composed by Vivek Sagar.
