Popular Kannada film and television actor Shobitha Shivanna was found dead at her residence in Kondapur, Gachibowli, on Sunday.
The tragic incident came to light when a call was made to the Gachibowli police around 12 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered that Shobitha’s husband had repeatedly tried to knock on her door in the morning but was unable to get a response. Eventually, he broke open the door and found her hanging.
Shobitha, originally from Sakleshpur in Karnataka’s Hassan district, had been living in Hyderabad with her husband for the past two years. The cause of her death is yet to be determined. She had worked in popular Kannada serials like Brahmagantu and Mangala Gowri, and also appeared in the Kannada film ATM: Attempt to Murder.
A case has been registered, and the body has been shifted to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem. It is expected that her body will be transported to Karnataka for the final rites.
