Talented Tollywood director Prashanth Varma delivered a surprising blockbuster at the Indian box office with Hanu-Man, starring young hero Teja Sajja. The film captivated audiences across India and set new records in terms of collections. Following its massive success, the director had previously announced a sequel titled Jai Hanuman.
Prashanth Varma initially revealed that Jai Hanuman was slated for release in 2025. He also confirmed that Kannada star Rishab Shetty would play the lead role. However, the current status of the film appears to be uncertain. Rishab Shetty is presently occupied with the prequel to his prestigious project Kantara, which has kept him extremely busy. He will only be able to allocate bulk dates for Jai Hanuman after wrapping up Kantara: Chapter 1.
Meanwhile, Prashanth Varma has also shifted his focus to other projects, directing new films and providing scripts to other filmmakers. Given the current situation, it seems unlikely that Jai Hanuman will release in 2025 or even in 2026. Industry insiders speculate that, considering the time required to begin production, complete filming, and carry out post-production, the film may only hit the screens by 2027.
Whether Jai Hanuman will see the light of day anytime soon remains to be seen. Fans will have to wait for further updates on the project’s progress.
