Venky Starrer Crosses 200 Cr Worldwide After Strong Second Weekend: Sankranthi Box Office Collections

Sankranthiki Vasthunam has enjoyed a remarkable second weekend at the Telugu box office, with a major spike in collections on Sunday coinciding with Republic Day. The film grossed approximately Rs. 24.50 crore during its second weekend in India, bringing its total gross to over Rs. 177 crore. Its worldwide gross crossed the Rs. 200 crore mark, with Rs. 32 crore (USD 3.70 million) coming from international markets, resulting in a total of around Rs. 209 crore.

This marks Venkatesh Daggubati’s first Rs. 200 crore film as the lead, making him only the second senior star from Telugu cinema to achieve this feat, following Chiranjeevi.

Day-Wise Box Office Collection in India:

On Friday, the film was expected to hit around Rs. 20 crore for the weekend. However, the numbers soared, with nearly Rs. 12 crore coming in on Sunday alone—almost three times the amount collected on Friday. The bulk of the collections have come from the Telugu states, with Rs. 10 crore coming from those regions on Sunday. As a result, the film’s total gross in AP/TS stands at approximately Rs. 163 crore, making it the tenth highest grosser in Telugu cinema, surpassing Sarileru Neekevvaru. It is poised to climb further, overtaking Waltair Veeraya and Baahubali: The Beginning by the end of the week, with a close race ahead to surpass Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (AVPL).
