Vettaiyan: Director TJ Gnanavel Reveals Plot Details and Rajini’s Powerful Characterization

Vettaiyan, starring Superstar Rajinikanth, is just two weeks away from its grand theatrical release. The film’s prevue, unveiled at the audio launch event, offered a glimpse of what to expect without revealing too much. Director TJ Gnanavel has now kicked off promotions for the highly anticipated action drama.

In a recent interview, TJ Gnanavel shared, “After the massive success of Jailer, expectations for Rajini sir have skyrocketed. Vettaiyan will feature songs and action sequences, but I didn’t stray from the core message I wanted to convey. While there have been films about encounter specialists, we’ve never explored their backstories. Vettaiyan delves into their mindset and thought process.”

He further explained, “Rajinikanth sir plays an encounter specialist in the film. The plot revolves around his stance on encounters and what ultimately happens to him. I couldn’t completely change my style for Rajini sir. Fans expect certain elements from him—like his signature style and grace. While staying true to the story, I worked to align with Thalaivar’s larger-than-life image and stardom.”
