Viduthalai Part 2, starring Vijay Sethupathi, continues to perform well at the Indian box office. As per Sacnilk.com, the film has earned approximately ₹23 crore in its first three days of release. Directed by Vetrimaaran, the movie surpassed the collections of its predecessor Viduthalai Part 1 on day three but still lagged behind Maharaja in terms of box office earnings.
On day one, Viduthalai Part 2 earned ₹7.5 crore (₹7 crore in Tamil, ₹50 lakh in Telugu), followed by ₹7.7 crore on day two. On day three, the film earned ₹7.6 crore nett, bringing the total earnings to ₹22.8 crore. The film’s Tamil occupancy on Sunday stood at 39.38%.
While the sequel outperformed Viduthalai Part 1 (which earned ₹5.05 crore on day three), it was unable to surpass Maharaja, which collected ₹9.65 crore on the same day.
About Viduthalai Part 2 Viduthalai Part 2 is the sequel to the 2023 hit Viduthalai Part 1 and follows the conflict between a police constable and the leader of a separatist group. Soori reprises his role as Constable Kumaresan, while Vijay Sethupathi plays Perumal ‘Vaathiyaar’, the leader of Makkal Padai. Manju Warrier plays Mahalakshmi, his wife. The film is based on Jeyamohan’s short story Thunaivan.
