Vijay Devarakonda’s team issues clarification on Illegal betting apps controversy

Date:

IPS Officer Sajjanar  has been in the news for strongly taking actions forward with the “Say no to betting” initiative. Punjagutta police have made a move , 11 social media influencers were booked for promoting betting apps.

Now Cyberabad police booked 25 people, including Tollywood actors and YouTubers, for allegedly promoting illegal betting apps.

Vijay Deverakonda’s name was also listed in the FIR, along with several other prominent celebrities.

But his PR team has now issued a statement about his involvement :“His endorsement was strictly confined to regions and territories where online skill-based games are legally permitted.”

The Honourable Supreme Court of India has repeatedly recognized online games such as rummy as distinct from gambling or gaming.

This was because of the app he was promoting but his team clarified that he did not do any illegal activity. He has done all things legally.

What are your thoughts on this? How can we stop these betting apps ?

Stay tuned for more such news.
