Vijay Deverakonda, often a target for criticism over his consistent use of ‘the’ before his name in film credits, sheds light on his unconventional choice in an interview with Galatta Plus. Rather than adopting a traditional title like many of his peers, the actor opts for ‘The Vijay Deverakonda,’ a decision that has sparked both curiosity and controversy.
Explaining his preference, Vijay humorously remarks that all the titles he admires, such as Thalapathy and Thalaivar, are already claimed by others. However, he later delves deeper, expressing his belief that his name alone suffices. He asserts, “My name’s enough. I am content with the name bestowed upon me by my parents. There’s only one Vijay Deverakonda, and he is ‘The Vijay Deverakonda.’ I find solace in the simplicity of just being Vijay Deverakonda.”
In the same interview, when questioned about his relationship status, Vijay takes a moment before responding, “Yes, I am in a relationship—with my parents, with my brother (Anand Deverakonda), with you. We’re all interconnected.”
Turning to his upcoming projects, Vijay is set to grace screens in Parasuram Petla’s “Family Star,” featuring Mrunal Thakur in the lead role. The film, slated for release on April 5, will also feature cameo appearances by Divyansha Kaushik and Rashmika Mandanna. Additionally, he has committed to a period action film helmed by director Gowtam Tinnanuri, although filming has yet to commence on this venture.
