Renowned South Indian actor Vijay Sethupathi, celebrated for his versatility, has often stepped beyond lead roles to explore supporting and antagonist characters. However, the actor now appears to be re-evaluating his choices.
Vijay Sethupathi’s roles in major films initially showcased his exceptional talent, but over time, some of his characters began to feel repetitive. A prime example is his role in Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, which followed a typical commercial formula. Even Vijay himself has admitted that he hasn’t been offered many intriguing roles lately.
After delivering a blockbuster as the lead in Maharaja, Vijay has decided to focus exclusively on strong lead roles. Reports initially suggested that he would play a key role in RC16, Ram Charan’s upcoming film directed by Buchi Babu Sana. Despite having worked with the director in Uppena, Vijay declined the offer, citing that while the story might be compelling, the character didn’t meet his expectations.
During promotions for Viduthalai 2, Vijay clarified that he is not part of Ram Charan’s film. This decision signals a shift in his career trajectory, as he prioritizes roles that offer greater depth and significance. For now, it seems unlikely that Vijay Sethupathi will take on supporting roles in other hero-centric films anytime soon.
